Dirty Scammer *Secrets* Part 2 - Buying Victoria's Secret Pallet Scams

As you learned in Dirty Scammer Secrets Part 1, “Tag Cutting” is a common practice used widely amongst scammer wholesale companies that try to pawn off non-Victoria’s Secret goods as being legit.

Today I wanted to share another tactic used by the culprits that can leave you broke and busted;

*Secret* Pallets: If you’re new to buying bulk, you probably have used the internet to do a little research and somehow landed on our site. Kudos to you for taking the time to research! You are a smart buyer!

You likely have also came across a few unnamed companies that offer “Pallets of Victoria’s Secret”. If you email them and ask what’s inside the pallet they tell you “Mixed merchandise”…ok, well…what IS “Mixed Merchandise”?
Let me tell you how this scam works;

I am a company that sells in bulk. I (personally) buy bulk direct from Victoria’s Secret. I don’t have a middleman so I can keep my prices very low. Other companies DO have a middle man so they have to raise their prices, so this is how they trick you.

They list a “Pallet of Mixed Victoria’s Secret Merchandise” for sale. The pallet contains 1000 pieces and is listed at $10,000. You purchase the pallet and it shows up at your front door. When you open it you find stuff like this:

50 bras
200 Lip Gloss
100 Pairs of Jeans
300 Eye shadows
50 Tees
200 Mascaras
100 Hats

At first glance you may think “Wow! This is great!” but then you start looking at the merchandise…

The 50 bras have an average retail value of $40 a piece ($2,000 Value)
The 200 Lip Gloss have a retail of $7 a piece ($1,400)
The 100 Jeans retail for $70 each, but they are very odd sizes (such as “8 Long” or “4 Short”)
The tees, mascaras and hats, put together only retail for $4,500.

So the total pallet retails for about $8,600. Plus you had to pay shipping which was an additional $1,500, making your total cost $11,500 and the total retail value only $8,600. This means that you have to somehow “make up” an additional $2,900 just to BREAK EVEN.

Lesson learned: DO NOT BUY “Mixed Pallets” for giant amounts of money when you have absolutely no clue what is inside of them. Even if they tell you “The pallet is worth double what you’re paying” – ok, just because it is “worth” double, does that mean you will be able to resell 700 purple lipsticks that *retail* for $20 a piece? Maybe in 1985, but not in 2009.
